Job summary

Exeter Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join the Surgical Services team. The APP will conduct inpatient rounds, ED consults, and first‑assist duties in the OR, collaborating with surgeons and a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient‑centered care.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years surgical experience, a Master’s degree in an NP/PA program, NH licensure or eligibility, and national certification (NP or PA).

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years directly related surgical experience
  • Master's degree from an accredited NP/PA program
  • Current NH licensure or eligibility
  • National certification as NP (RNFA) or PA with NCCPA
  • BLS certification
  • Eligibility for medical staff appointment and clinical privileges at Exeter Hospital

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive or episodic health assessment of patients/families with acute and/or chronic problems, emphasizing wellness.
  • Provides comprehensive care for well, acutely and chronically ill patients in collaboration with general and specialty providers under supervision.
  • Establishes differential diagnoses and orders/assesses diagnostic studies; plans follow-up care.
  • Serves as first/second surgical assistant in the Operating Room under supervision.
  • Conducts routine patient rounds and writes progress notes.
  • Prescribes and regulates medicines per NH Board of Pharmacy or NH Board of Nursing.
  • Records/coordinates health data to expedite services; adheres to Medicare guidelines where appropriate.
  • Maintains current knowledge and continuing education requirements for licensure.
  • Reviews quality metrics and leads improvement efforts within the care team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Serves as first and second surgical assistant in the Operating Room for patients of the Responsible Supervising Physician (RSP) and Alternate Responsible Supervising Physician (ARSP).5. Conducts routine patient rounds and writes progress notes.6. Prescribes and regulates medicines in accordance with the regulations of the NH State Board of Pharmacy or the NH State Board of Nursing.7. Records and documents health appraisal data as necessary to maintain, coordinate and/or expedite required services; and in accordance with Medicare guidelines where appropriate.8. Maintains and enhances current level of knowledge relative to professional practice, as well as continuing education requirements necessary for licensure and certification.9. Proactively reviews quality and efficiency metrics. Identifies opportunities for improvement and leads the care team in improvement efforts. Participates in specialty certification efforts.10.
