Job summary

VCU Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to deliver high-quality medical and surgical care in collaboration with Attending Physicians. The APP will conduct histories and exams, order tests, diagnose, treat, and may assist with surgeries, while providing patient counseling and medication management within Virginia scope of practice.

The role emphasizes teamwork, efficient patient care delivery, and adherence to safety and cost-effective practices within the VCU Health system.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant Program.
• Virginia licensure and national certification as appropriate for the role.
• CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications; ACLS/PALS as department allows.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and patient care to acute and chronic patients.
• Perform histories and physicals, order and interpret tests, diagnose and treat illnesses.
• Assist with surgical procedures and prescribe medications.
• Collaborate with Attending Physician and care team to coordinate patient care.
