Job summary

Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry is seeking an experienced chairside orthodontic dental assistant. You will support the orthodontist during procedures, take radiographs and impressions, and help patients understand treatment plans, costs, and financing options.

You’ll manage the chairside schedule, ensure proper sterilization, and coordinate with the front desk to keep the day running smoothly. The role emphasizes reliable attendance, in-person patient care, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience presenting treatment plans and discussing financial arrangements with patients.
• Experience scheduling treatment chairside, confirming appointments, and managing a provider schedule.
• Working knowledge of dental insurance and procedure terminology.
• Current CPR/BLS certification, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist chairside during orthodontic procedures and provide excellent patient experience.
• Take radiographs and impressions and chart accurately.
• Set up, break down, and turnover operatories on schedule.
• Sterilize instruments and follow OSHA infection control standards.
• Present treatment plans and explain recommendations in plain language.
• Discuss fees, insurance estimates, and financing options with patients.
• Schedule next visit while patients are in the chair and confirm upcoming appointments by phone/text.
• Fill openings and cancellations and follow up on unscheduled treatment.
• Coordinate handoffs with the front desk and support teammates as needed.
