Job summary

Duong Orthodontics in Manteca, CA is seeking a part-time Orthodontic Assistant to join our practice. The role includes assisting the orthodontist, taking X-rays, photos, impressions and intraoral scans, and providing patient education.

You will help maintain clinic hygiene, manage patient flow, and support growth initiatives while delivering exceptional patient experiences. The ideal candidate holds a Certified Dental Assistant certificate and a radiology license, with a willingness to train;

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant certificate is required.
• Radiology license is required to take x-rays.
• Willing to train the right candidate; prior experience is preferred.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Proficiency with orthodontic/dental management software systems is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Create exceptional first impressions by welcoming and seating patients and building positive relationships with patients, families and coworkers.
• Assist the orthodontist with consultations and all stages of procedures; clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments; take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans.
• Provide patient instruction and education; communicate reports to parents/guardians.
• Support practice growth by maintaining relationships to ensure treatment stays on schedule.
• Maintain professional communication and detailed patient records, including correspondence with referring dentists.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Provide Exceptional Clinical Care – Assist Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures, clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments and devices, and take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans.
• Patient Education – Provide patient instruction/education and provide reports to parents/guardians.
• Practice Growth – Build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers to ensure the targeted outcome treatment remains on schedule.
• Professional Communication – Generate correspondence for referring dentists and maintain detailed patient records.

• Certified Dental Assistant Certificate required
• Radiology License required to take x-rays.
