Job summary

Vitana Pediatric & Orthodontic Partners in Celebration, FL is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support the orthodontist and clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care. You will prepare instruments, take impressions and scans, place and adjust appliances, and ensure smooth operatory flow in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have prior dental assisting experience (orthodontic preferred), X-ray certification, and familiarity with dental software.

Qualifications

• Prior dental assisting experience required (orthodontic experience preferred).
• Dental Assistant certification as required by state.
• Orthodontic assisting experience or certification (if applicable).
• X-ray certification (as required by state).
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• Experience with dental software (Dentrix, Ortho2, Open Dental, etc.) preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms
• Take dental impressions, digital scans, and photographs
• Place and remove orthodontic appliances under doctor supervision (brackets, wires, bands, etc., per state regulations)
• Adjust archwires and change elastics as directed
• Take orthodontic X-rays in compliance with state guidelines
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment expectations
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical notes
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols
• Support efficient patient flow and operatory turnover
• Assist with inventory management and stocking supplies
