Job summary

Turpin Orthodontics - Monroe is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to support our Monroe, West Monroe, and Ruston locations in a full-time role. The position requires attention to detail, a patient-centered approach, and willingness to travel weekly between locations.

The ideal candidate has 6+ months of orthodontic assisting experience and will handle photography, impressions, sterilization, inventory, chair-side setup, and patient instruction under the orthodontist's supervision.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of orthodontic assisting experience is preferred.
• Must be willing to travel to Monroe, West Monroe, and Ruston locations on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities

• Taking extraoral and intraoral photographs.
• Taking dental impressions.
• Sterilization and packaging of orthodontic instruments.
• Disinfecting equipment and operatories.
• Maintaining inventory control of lab equipment, supplies, instruments, and consumables.
• Preparing clinicians’ chair-side set-ups.
• Applying orthodontic appliances under supervision.
• Pouring models.
• Fabricating retainers.
• Cleaning labs and operatories, sweeping/mopping as needed.
• Providing oral hygiene and home care instructions to patients and family.

Overview

Turpin Orthodontics is looking for an Orthodontic Assistant to join our established locations in Monroe, West Monroe, and Ruston, Louisiana! The best candidate for this role has strong attention to detail and a patient-centered mindset.

Schedule:

• Full-time
• Monday - Thursday from 7:45 AM - 5:15 PM
• Fridays from 7:45 AM - 12:00 PM

Job Duties:

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Taking extraoral and intraoral photographs
• Taking dental impressions
• Sterilization and packaging of orthodontic instruments
• Disinfecting equipment and operatories
• Maintaining inventory control of all lab equipment, supplies, instruments, and consumables
• Preparing clinicians’ chair-side set-ups
• Tying and untying patients
• Applying orthodontic appliances under the supervision of the orthodontist
• Pouring models
• Fabricating retainers
• Cleaning the lab and operatories, sweeping/mopping as needed
• Cleaning common areas and removing the trash
• Providing oral hygiene and home care instructions to patients and family members
• And adherence to all OSHA and HIPAA regulations
