Job summary

Texas Orthopedics, A Division of OrthoLoneStar, seeks an experienced Ortho Tech to assist physicians with patient care, casting, bracing and DME management. The role includes inventory oversight, medication samples, OSHA compliance and EMR documentation.

You may back up MA and Ortho Tech duties as needed across the Kyle clinics. Ideal candidates will have 1 year Ortho Tech experience, plus MA/Ortho Tech certification and preferred exposure to supply ordering and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• MA or Ortho Tech Certification preferred.
• 1 year Ortho Tech experience preferred.
• Experience with supply ordering and OSHA knowledge preferred.
• 3+ years casting, splinting, and DME experience preferred.
• Mastery of clinic skills and DME/casting/splinting checklists.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with daily patient care activities including MA and Ortho Tech responsibilities.
• Maintain clinic inventory and storage of DME; monitor reorder levels.
• Train and support clinical staff; mentor and advise on EMR and clinic procedures.
• Answer medical questions for clinic staff; address protocol/workflow concerns.
• Collaborate with physician staff to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to protocols.
• Handle special projects as directed by management.
• Manage location inventory; act as super user for inventory program.
• Capture insurance benefits and authorization requirements for DME.
• Ensure quality standards for DME per Medicare/Medicaid and other regs.
• Back up MA and Ortho Tech duties when needed.
