Job summary

Texas Orthopedics seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians in South Austin and Northwest Austin clinics. Responsibilities include casting, taking vital signs, preparing injections, and patient education.

You will maintain exam rooms, assist with treatments, and document in EMR while ensuring patient privacy and clinic efficiency. The role requires an MA certificate (preferred) and about a year of healthcare experience, ideally in orthopedics; travel between clinic locations is possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MA certificate preferred.
• One year healthcare experience preferred, ideally in orthopedics.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and patient privacy.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and basic software tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care, including casting and dressing changes.
• Take vital signs, prepare injections, and complete H&P questionnaires.
• Apply casts, splints and DME as needed to support clinic flow.
• Issue prescriptions and orders per physician instruction; educate patients.
• Maintain timely, safe clinics with patient privacy and dignity in mind.
• Document patient interactions in EMR and coordinate scheduling.
