Job summary

Carle Health's North Tower 4 is seeking an RN for a 41-bed unit, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants after a 1-year commitment, and a range of cases from hip and knee replacements to complex trauma.

Responsibilities include initial patient assessment, care planning, accurate documentation, wound and mobility education, collaboration with physicians, and ensuring safety and quality care aligned with departmental standards.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• RN license in good standing (IDFPR or applicable state board).
• Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree required.
• RN >1 year of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided.
• Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops plan of care.
• Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Monitors safety and quality, reports hazards or incidents, and participates in safety initiatives.
• Educates patients and families on wound care, mobility, self-care, and medication management.
• Coordinates with physicians and surgeons on patient care.
