Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced RN for NT4, a 41-bed unit specializing in total joint replacements and complex trauma care. The role requires RN licensure and at least 1 year of experience, with a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants and a 3-year commitment.

The nurse will perform duties across admission, care planning, wound care management, and patient education, while coordinating with orthopedic and surgical teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) – Illinois IDFPR.
• Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit.
• Implements procedures and theories related to the unit scope of practice.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care for the healthcare team.
• Assesses patients on admission and develops care plans.
• Delivers plan of care and nursing interventions.
• Ensures patient and staff safety; reports hazards and incidents.
• Educates patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, and medication management.
• Coordinates with physicians and surgeons on ortho/medical/surgical care.
• Delegates and monitors nursing staff.
• Sets up traction and manages wound devices as needed.
