Doctors United Surgery Center is seeking an RN Surgical Coordinator to oversee surgical scheduling, preparation and execution within the perioperative department for Orthopedic and Podiatry service lines. This role acts as a clinical resource for surgeons and staff to optimize patient outcomes and keep operations smooth.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years perioperative nursing experience in ortho/podiatry, a Texas RN license, BLS/ACLS, and CNOR preferred.

Active Texas RN license
BSN preferred
3–5 years perioperative nursing in ortho/podiatry
In-depth knowledge of orthopedic/podiatry instrumentation and procedures
Demonstrated leadership and critical thinking
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment
Current BLS and ACLS or willingness to obtain before employment
CNOR certification preferred
Proficient with MS Word and Excel

Mansioni

Collaborate with surgeons, Director of Nursing, OR Charge Nurse, Materials Management and vendors to plan and execute cases, including vendor representation and staffing needs.
Review Orthopedic & Podiatry schedules to confirm resources and oversee instrument prep and staffing.
Participate in case planning, preference card management and coordination of specialty needs with surgeons and perioperative staff.
Serve as primary contact for physicians and surgical staff, communicating and escalating needs to leadership.
Identify capital equipment needs and coordinate in-services and training for OR personnel.
Work with Administrator to ensure fiscal responsibility and identify cost-saving initiatives.
Assist in developing and enforcing policies, procedures and standards of care for regulatory compliance.
Mentor and act as clinical resource for OR Circulators and Surgical Technologists.
Troubleshoot equipment and supply issues to minimize schedule disruption.
Maintain knowledge of surgical techniques, instrumentation and technology relevant to Orthopedic & Podiatry services.
Participate in QAPI activities, PRO reporting to home office, EDGE; coordinate with QAPI program coordinator.
Promote teamwork and safety culture; participate in staff education, orientation and competency assessments.
