Job summary

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification from CMA (AAMA), CCMA (NHA), NCMA (NCCT), RMA (AMT) or other recognized bodies.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam; documents vital signs and pertinent health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures (e.g., strep test, wound culture) using aseptic technique.
• Assists clinicians with procedures (e.g., pelvic exams, allergy testing) as appropriate.
• Administers routine medications under orders or standing protocols.
• Coordinates patient flow and referrals; communicates with nurses, physicians, and other staff.
• Supports clinical tasks such as sutures removal, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry etc., under supervision.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care and adheres to department policies.
