Job summary

CHS Corporate is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Ortho unit. The role provides direct, patient-centered care under RN/LPN supervision, assisting with activities of daily living and ensuring a safe, organized environment.

Responsibilities include vital signs, intake/output, and collaborating with the care team to maintain quality patient care. The ideal candidate has 0–2 years in acute care or is pursuing nursing, with BCLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years in an acute care setting preferred.
• Enrolled in a nursing program.
• BCLS certification within 90 days of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with delegated basic care and keep environment clean, safe and organized.
• Record vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, and report to RN/LPN/LVN.
• Support patients with meals, bathing, oral care, grooming, linen changes and catheter care.
• Assist with positioning, ambulation, and use mobility aids.
• Collect urine/stool samples and perform finger-stick glucose testing and report results.
• Communicate patient information effectively to the care team and follow PPE protocols.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and risk management activities.
• Maintain regular attendance and adherence to policies.
