Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an Orthopedic Technician/Medical Assistant to support physicians across orthopedic practice locations. You will assist with wound care, dressings, EKGs, cast care, injections, phlebotomy, radiograph orders, and charting in the electronic health record.

Travel to satellite sites is required. Must have Medical Assistant Certification or Athletic Trainer Licensure within 120 days, CPR certification, and complete privacy and security trainings in accordance with

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED with AHN medical assisting training within five years of hire or graduate from athletic training program.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Athletic Trainer Licensure required within 120 days of hire.
• CPR certification and compliance with HIPAA and privacy policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with wound care, dressings, EKGs, suture/staple removal, and cast/splint care.
• Administer injections and perform phlebotomy for PRP; assist ultrasound as needed.
• Prepare patient rooms, obtain diagnoses, and document health information in the EHR.
• Order radiographs per physician protocol and update allergy/medication history.
• May function as a scribe to maintain clinic workflow and coordinate patient care.
• Stock supplies and manage exam room readiness; travel to satellite locations.
