Job summary

Liberty FCU in Orlando, FL is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to join our lending team. The role focuses on self-generated business, evaluating borrower qualification, and presenting mortgage options to clients with clarity and integrity.

You will conduct interviews, collect documentation, network with realtors and builders, and ensure compliance with federal and NCUA rules. A bachelor's degree is preferred and 2–3 years of origination experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills to discuss loan programs and borrower details.
• Ability to identify and pursue mortgage business through self-generation.
• Strong understanding of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and processing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct loan interviews, discuss programs, collect supporting documentation for approval.
• Evaluate credit and financial status of borrowers for qualification.
• Pursue and follow up on leads; contact prospective borrowers via phone/email/face-to-face.
• Maintain knowledge of loan products, processing, and underwriting guidelines.
• Develop referral networks with realtors, builders, and other partners.
