Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking a Sr Organizational Development Specialist to define the learning strategy for the US and Canada, align with the Global Center of Expertise, and support Field HR. This role acts as a process expert, monitors program effectiveness, and drives continuous improvement.

You will design solutions, coordinate vendor relationships, develop content, manage the LMS (SuccessFactors), and partner with Field HR to build hi‑performing teams for a Cyber Powered organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4+ years HR or OD experience preferred.
  • Ability to design and develop training programs.
  • Digital mindset with ability to use data and tech-enabled work.
  • Knowledge of L&D tools and trends.
  • Facilitation skills.
  • Office 365 proficiency.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, preferably SuccessFactors, and authoring tools.
  • Creativity and openness to change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Basic Function (Primary Purpose)

This position reports to the Organization Development Manager. The Sr Organizational Development Specialist is responsible for defining the strategy and coordinating the learning and development process for Gerdau North America. This position functions as a process expert, acts as a liaison with the Global Center of Expertise and supports the Field HR. The Sr OD Specialist also monitors, maintains, and reports the effectiveness of programs and tools, and seeks continuous improvement and alignment with Gerdau.

Scope

This position will be responsible for providing guidance and functional support to Field HR (Managers and Generalists) in learning and development, pipeline processes, culture management, and engagement. The focus will be on designing and developing solutions, which HR will implement in their assigned customer groups, aligned with our objectives of creating hi-performing teams, and a Cyber Powered organization. The company’s projects and priorities will determine which Organizational Development processes this position will be responsible for at any given time, and therefore, this position must have the ability to cross-functional and adapt to changing priorities.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the learning process, governance, and ecosystem for North America (US and Canada).
  • Analyzes training needs of the organization and formulates development solutions.
  • Supports and assists implementation of programs to develop and retain employees.
  • Supports engagement and culture initiatives as well as improvement of employee experience.
  • Supports and assists in the design and implementation of pipeline programs.
  • Develop training content and supervise their development by outside suppliers.
  • Manages training and development vendors, resources, systems, tools, and budget.
  • Facilitates internal workshops and leadership training.
  • Manages the Learning Management System - Success Factors for North America.
  • Updates and maintains training catalogs, curricula’s, content, and training plans.
  • Monitors and reports the effectiveness of training as well as other OD programs.Customizes and implements learning and pipeline initiatives from the Global Center of Expertise.
  • Supports and develops Field HR in the strategy and execution of the processes mentioned above.
Qualifications And Educational Requirements(s)
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Human Resources or Organizational Development, preferably with experience and knowledge in learning and development.
  • Ability to design and develop training and development programs.
  • Demonstrated digital mindset, with the ability to effectively adopt and leverage digital tools, data, and technology-enabled ways of working.
  • Knowledgeable of tools and trends in learning and development.
  • Training facilitation skills.
  • Computer skills including Office 365
  • Knowledge and experience with Learning Management Systems, preferably Success Factors as well as authoring tools.
  • Creativity and openness to change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence others.
  • Ability to be responsive and focus on assisting and supporting field HR and other internal customers.
