Job summary

General Summary

Routine Facilitator III is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to establish a productive, high-performing, and safety-focused work environment. This role drives continuous improvement through the application of Gerdau Business System (GBS) principles, with a focus on safety, environmental compliance, production, cost control, quality, and people management within the assigned area or cell of responsibility.

Essential Functions

  • Manage workflow within the assigned area to maximize productivity while minimizing downtime and equipment breakdowns.
  • Monitor operational performance, manage routine processes, and train employees on routine management standards and best practices.
  • Facilitate training sessions and maintain a training matrix to ensure compliance with standards, methodologies, tools, policies, and procedures.
  • Coach and develop team members in failure analysis techniques and support the implementation of the QIS methodology.
  • Establish performance expectations, conduct audits, document findings, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Promote and support operator engagement in GBS processes, audits, 5S initiatives, preventive maintenance, safety management systems, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Conduct trend analysis, identify recurring issues, and analyze symptoms and failures to drive process improvements.
  • Administer safety programs and coordinate emergency preparedness policies, procedures, and response activities.
  • Track and report performance against established control items and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain operational standards and procedures.
  • Lead daily routine management activities and actively support the use of GBS tools and processes.
  • Establish area or cell goals, develop action plans, and monitor progress to achieve business objectives.

Additional Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring routine management processes are consistently followed and that opportunities for improvement in processes, products, and production methods are identified and implemented. This position drives standardization efforts across the assigned area and supports continuous improvement initiatives through coaching, auditing, and training.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting needs assessments and supporting production and quality improvement programs.
  • Leading 5S initiatives and facilitating improvements in workplace organization and efficiency.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of cost reduction and environmental control objectives.

The successful candidate must possess strong leadership and communication skills, be results-oriented, and demonstrate the ability to motivate and engage employees while driving operational excellence.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Material Science, or a related field required.
  • Degree must be obtained from an accredited college or university.

Experience

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with exposure to standardization, process improvement, and production quality systems.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Scrap Processing
  • Melting Operations
  • Casting
  • Rolling Mills
  • Maintenance
  • Finishing Operations
  • Shipping and Warehouse Operations
  • Prior supervisory, leadership, facilitation, or continuous improvement experience required.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, GBS principles, 5S, root cause analysis, and routine management systems preferred.
