Job summary

Tennessee Donor Services is seeking an Organ Recovery Coordinator to leverage clinical nursing experience in an ICU/critical care setting to facilitate organ donation processes in the Tri-Cities area. The role collaborates with surgical teams to assess compatibility and expedites transplantation efforts.

The ideal candidate will have RN licensure, 2+ years in critical care, and strong communication and outreach abilities.

Qualifications

Two plus years of experience in a critical care setting.
Registered Nurse (RN) with active license.
Valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR requirements.
Ability to exercise independent judgement and multitask.
Strong teamwork, interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills.
Creative approach to marketing and outreach.

Responsibilities

Evaluates patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consulting with medical staff.
Coordinates organ placement and allocation with transplant programs and surgeons.
Coordinates and assists in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management, including logistics and lab specimen preparation.
Provides support to donor families and conducts medical/social history interviews.
Other duties as assigned.
