Job summary

Tennessee Donor Services is seeking an Organ Recovery Coordinator with a RN background to oversee organ donation processes in the Chattanooga area. The role emphasizes autonomous function, collaboration with surgical teams, and support for donor families.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in critical care, an RN license, and strong communication skills. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass MVR are required.

Qualifications

• Two plus years in a critical care setting.
• RN license and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and multitask.
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consulting with medical staff.
• Coordinates organ placement and allocation with transplant programs and surgeons.
• Coordinates and assists in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management, including logistics such as transportation, packaging, and specimen preparation.
• Provides support to donor families and conducts medical/social history interviews.
• Updates donor information into the EMR.
• Other duties as assigned.
