Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville seeks an Organ Procurement Coordinator to lead donation processes in the critical care and emergency settings. You will work with transplant surgeons, donor hospital personnel, and families to facilitate organ, tissue and eye donation with sensitivity and professionalism.

The role requires active Florida RN/PA/RT licensure or equivalent, and experience in critical care. On-call duties total ~20 days per month; schedule is variable and includes days.

Qualifications

• RN or PA or RT with active Florida license (required)
• Two years in critical care or emergency care (preferred)
• Master's in human donation sciences (preferred)
• Prior organ/tissue donation experience (preferred)
• Proficiency with hospital EHRs and MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate donation process including medical management, organ evaluation and allocation
• Respond to LifeQuest referrals from hospitals
• Discuss organ, tissue and eye donation options with families
• Provide education to donor hospitals and general public
• Collaborate with transplant surgeons and hospital staff to coordinate complex procedures
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines for organ allocation and transport
