Job summary

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network coordinates organ allocation from deceased donors via the national system and assists in machine perfusion for kidneys. Compensation for this role is $30.29 - $33.65 per hour plus applicable night shift differential.

This position includes on-call duties, collaboration with transplant centers, and documentation in the EMR, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in interpreting lab values and diagnostic tests; familiarity with medical terminology.
• Experience with sterile technique in clinical settings.
• Proficient with basic computer applications and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Participate in 12-hour on-call rotation to coordinate organ allocation.
• Assist in hypothermic machine perfusion of deceased donor kidneys.
• Communicate with transplant centers to allocate organs per OPTN/UNOS policy; document dispositions.
• Use DonorNet to disseminate donor information and document allocation efforts in the EMR.
• Identify and communicate required clinical information to Gift of Hope staff and transplant centers.
• Assist Perfusion Coordinator with renal dissection/cannulation in the Perfusion Lab.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives, training and departmental meetings.
• Mentor new staff as assigned; perform other duties as needed.
