Job summary

BESTAFF is seeking an Order Entry Clerk for a growing Indianapolis manufacturing partner. The role involves entering spare parts and dimer orders from entry to delivery updates, supporting the equipment customer service team, and serving as a go-to resource for customers.

Monday–Friday daytime shift with potential for permanent placement. You will prepare quotes, process orders, handle inquiries, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of high-volume data entry and customer support.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel; ERP experience is a plus.
• Excellent typing and 10-key speed with accuracy.
• Strong customer service and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Enter external and inter-company spare parts and dimer orders in the ERP system.
• Complete PO reviews, give customers status updates, and coordinate returns and credits.
• Prepare quotes for external and inter-company spare parts and dimer orders.
• Process credit card orders following company procedures.
• Answer customer calls and emails promptly, directing callers to the right contact.
• Handle daily, monthly and yearly filing of equipment and dimer orders.
• Flag parts cost changes in the system and share them with teams.
• Prepare and track monthly activity and product metrics using charts and spreadsheets.
• Back up Equipment Customer Service Representative for order entry and inquiries.
• Support front desk coverage as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and assist with other duties as needed.

About the Role

BESTAFF is hiring an Order Entry Clerk for a growing manufacturing partner in Indianapolis, IN. If you' re fast and accurate on the keyboard, love keeping orders moving, and enjoy helping customers, this is your spot. You' ll handle spare parts and dimer orders from entry to delivery updates, back up the equipment customer service team, and be a go-to resource for customers. This is a Monday– Friday daytime role with a path to a permanent position.

What You' ll Do

• Enter external and inter-company spare parts and dimer orders in the company ERP system.
• Complete PO reviews, give customers status updates, and coordinate returns and credits.
• Prepare quotes for external and inter-company spare parts and dimer orders.
• Process credit card orders following company procedures.
• Answer customer calls and emails promptly, direct callers to the right person, and write professional customer correspondence.
• Handle daily, monthly and yearly filing of equipment and dimer orders.
• Flag spare parts cost changes in the system and share them with Customer Service and the Equipment Product Manager.
• Prepare and track monthly activity and product metrics using charts, graphs and spreadsheets.
• Back up the Equipment Customer Service Representative on equipment order entry and customer inquiries.
• Help with front desk coverage for 1– 2 hours as needed.
• Follow all plant and company safety policies and pitch in on other duties as business needs change.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate' s degree preferred.
• 1– 3 years of high-volume data entry and customer support experience.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel; ERP system experience a plus.
• Excellent typing and 10-key speed with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, including staying calm and professional with challenging customers.
• Well organized, able to prioritize and hit deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A self-starter who works well on a team and with customers, vendors and all levels of the company.
• Able to work periodic overtime as needed.
