Job summary

Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, SC is seeking an Orchestra Librarian to purchase, prepare, and distribute orchestral parts for all Orchestra services. You will work closely with the Producing Office, Orchestra Manager, and Music Director to shape smooth rehearsals and performances.

This year-round, variable-hour role shifts from quiet remote prep to on-site, festival-period coverage in Charleston. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-directed, and experienced in professional

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a professional orchestra library (internships accepted; leads on concerts preferred).
• Knowledge of music notation and library procedures; ability to prepare parts from scratch.
• Proficiency with tech and file-sharing tools (Dropbox).
• Bachelor’s degree in music or related field is a plus; nonprofit arts/festival experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Purchase, rent, and prepare orchestral parts for all Orchestra programs.
• Bow, mark cuts, prepare page turns, and annotate parts with conductors.
• Scan and organize parts; maintain clear electronic file structure.
• Create score copies for conductors and composers as needed.
