Job summary

Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, SC is seeking Venue Coordinators to be the face of the festival at 14G and Festival Hall. This on-site, hourly, non-exempt role handles client, vendor, and guest interactions and oversees safety and the condition of the facility during shifts.

You will work mostly solo, coordinate setup and breakdown, conduct inspections, maintain professionalism, and support event-day logistics. Evening, holiday, and weekend shifts are common.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in customer-facing roles such as events, hospitality, or retail.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound on-the-spot judgment.
• Trustworthy and reliable as sole onsite representative during a shift.
• Experience de-escalating conflict and resolving issues in real time.
• Proactive, self-starting approach with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for clients, vendors, and guests.
• Collaborate with event organizers to ensure flawless execution.
• Oversee setup, breakdown, and organization of event spaces.
• Open and close the venue as required and perform inspections.
• Maintain a professional, welcoming demeanor and resolve concerns on the spot.
• Monitor activities for policy compliance and safety; respond to emergencies.
• Assist with crowd control and other event-day logistics.
• Maintain inventory and complete event and incident reports as needed.
