The MIT team is seeking a Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, calibrate, test, and maintain orbital welding equipment, ensuring high-quality workmanship, precise documentation, and safe shop practices. You will engage in equipment evaluation and repair, production and quality, shop operations, and continuous improvement, following established procedures and 5S standards while collaborating with others.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
• Basic computer proficiency and accurate documentation skills.
• Ability to think critically.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot weld heads, power supplies, water coolers, facing tools, saws, cables, pendants, and related equipment to identify failure modes.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, software, and hardware repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance, calibrations, and functional testing.
• Verify repaired equipment meets company quality standards prior to shipment.
• Document inspection findings, repairs, testing results, and recommendations electronically.
