Job summary

Synechron in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Oracle/SQL Developer to design, develop, and optimize database objects and data integration pipelines.

You will work across Unix scripting, batch processing, Python, PySpark, and AutoSys, collaborating with global clients to deliver high-performance data solutions.

Applicants should have strong SQL/PL/SQL skills, expertise in partitioning and performance tuning, and comfort with GitHub workflows.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Oracle RDBMS development experience.
  • Strong SQL, PL/SQL, and ANSI SQL knowledge.
  • Understanding of partitioning, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Experience with dynamic SQL, EXECUTE IMMEDIATE, and autonomous transactions.
  • Experience with SQL*Plus, NDM/Connect:Direct, and AutoSys.
  • Expert-level Python and PySpark experience.
  • Experience integrating Python/PySpark with Oracle and workflows.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Oracle/SQL Developer with strong Oracle RDBMS, SQL/PL/SQL, Unix scripting, batch processing, and data integration skills. Expert-level Python and PySpark experience is highly desired to support the team’s growing data-engineering needs.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $90k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).

Key Requirements
  • Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database objects, including tables, views, indexes, partitioned tables, procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
  • Develop and optimize SQL and PL/SQL applications.
  • Analyze execution plans and improve performance using indexing, partitioning, optimizer hints, and SQL tuning techniques.
  • Apply advanced PL/SQL concepts, including dynamic SQL, EXECUTE IMMEDIATE, exception handling, bulk processing, and autonomous transactions.
  • Develop KornShell scripts using sed, awk, grep, and other Unix utilities.
  • Create shell scripts that invoke SQL*Plus for database processing and automation.
  • Develop and support NDM/Connect:Direct file transfers.
  • Create and maintain AutoSys jobs and workflows.
  • Develop production-quality Python and PySpark solutions for data processing, transformation, validation, and automation.
  • Use GitHub for source control, branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
  • Use GitHub Copilot to improve development efficiency while validating and reviewing generated code.
  • Participate in design, development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.
