Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Oracle Exadata DBA in Charlotte, NC to administer and optimize Exadata environments. The role covers RAC/ASM/Grid Infrastructure/Clusterware, backups with RMAN, and disaster recovery strategies.

The candidate will collaborate across teams to ensure high availability and performance in large enterprise settings.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration across 11g, 12c, 19c or higher.
  • Hands-on Exadata administration and architecture experience.
  • Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and Clusterware.
  • Experience with Oracle Data Guard and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Strong RMAN backup/recovery knowledge.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL and tuning techniques.
  • Experience with migrations, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Knowledge of Exadata Storage Cells, Smart Flash Cache, and Smart Scan.
  • Experience on Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Oracle Exadata Database Machine environments.

Experienced Oracle Exadata DBA to manage, administer, optimize, and support mission-critical Oracle Exadata environments. The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Exadata Storage Server, Performance Tuning, Backup & Recovery, High Availability, and Database Migration across large enterprise environments.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $110 - $115k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain Oracle Exadata Database Machine environments.
  • Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Clusterware, and Grid Infrastructure.
  • Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.
  • Monitor database health, capacity, and performance, implementing tuning recommendations.
  • Manage Exadata Storage Servers, Cell Servers, and Smart Scan features.
  • Configure and maintain backup and recovery solutions using RMAN.
  • Ensure high availability through Data Guard, RAC, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Perform database cloning, refreshes, and data migration activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex database, storage, and performance-related issues.
  • Implement database security best practices, access controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure operational excellence.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams.
  • Participate in on-call support and critical incident management activities.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration (11g, 12c, 19c, or higher).
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata administration and architecture.
  • Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and Clusterware.
  • Experience with Oracle Data Guard and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery strategies.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience in database migrations, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Knowledge of Exadata Storage Cells, Smart Flash Cache, and Smart Scan.
  • Experience working on Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Exadata Cloud Service.
  • Knowledge of automation and scripting using Shell, Python, or Ansible.
