Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Oracle DBA to monitor, manage, and optimize Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. The role involves patching, upgrades, migrations, and collaboration with development teams to improve application performance.

You will monitor databases with Oracle Enterprise Manager, participate in on-call incident responses, and leverage AI tools for monitoring. A 2+ year production DBA background and a Bachelor’s degree are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Production Oracle DBA.
• Experience with Oracle Database (11g, 12c, 19c) administration, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• US citizenship. We are not able to sponsor for this position.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, administer and support Oracle Databases (11g, 12c, 19c) for performance, availability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, application errors, and connectivity problems.
• Manage Oracle 12c/19c multi-tenant databases (PDB/CDB) and container databases.
• Ensure security best practices, including user management, encryption, and audit trails.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and Oracle-based solutions.
• Monitor and manage database/app performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Provide on-call support during major incidents and root cause analysis.
• Implement Oracle database monitoring using AI tools.
