Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Oracle DBA to monitor, manage, administer, and optimize Oracle databases. You will ensure high availability, security, and performance of Oracle systems, handle migrations, patches, upgrades, and uptime. Ideal candidates have 2+ years as a Production Oracle DBA, a Bachelor's degree, and Oracle proficiency (11g/12c/19c). US citizenship required; salary ranges reflect market data.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Production Oracle DBA.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with Oracle Database administration (11g, 12c, 19c) including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• US citizenship. We are not able to sponsor for this position.
• Preferred Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or higher certification.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms for database hosting.
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in Oracle environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, administer and support Oracle Databases (11g, 12c, 19c), ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, application errors, and connectivity problems.
• Manage Oracle 12c/19c multi-tenant databases (PDB/ CDB) and container databases.
• Ensure Oracle database and applications comply with security best practices, including user management, encryption, and audit trails.
• Work closely with development teams to optimize application performance and integrate Oracle-based solutions.
• Monitor and manage database and application performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager and other monitoring tools.
• Provide support during major incidents, including on-call rotation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Implement Oracle database monitoring using AI tools
