Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an Oracle DBA to monitor, manage, administer, and optimize Oracle databases. You will ensure high availability, security, and performance of Oracle systems and applications, including migrations, patches, upgrades, and uptime support.

Collaborate with development teams to boost application performance and maintain robust security practices. The role includes on‑call rotation and incident response, with a comprehensive benefits package and career growth

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Production Oracle DBA.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience with Oracle Database administration, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• US citizenship. We are not able to sponsor for this position.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, administer and support Oracle Databases (11g, 12c, 19c), ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, application errors, and connectivity problems.
• Manage Oracle 12c/19c multi-tenant databases (PDB/CDB) and container databases.
• Ensure Oracle database and applications comply with security best practices, including user management, encryption, and audit trails.
• Work closely with development teams to optimize application performance and integrate Oracle-based solutions.
• Monitor and manage database and application performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager and other monitoring tools.
• Provide support during major incidents, including on‑call rotation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Implement Oracle database monitoring using AI tools
