Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to monitor, manage, and optimize Oracle databases across 11g, 12c, and 19c environments in a fast-paced, on-site setting in the United States. You will ensure high availability, security, and performance, manage migrations and upgrades, and partner with development teams to optimize applications.

Qualifications

• Required 2+ years of experience as an Production Oracle DBA.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with Oracle Database (11g, 12c, 19c) administration, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• US citizenship. We are not able to sponsor for this position.
• Preferred Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or higher certification.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms for database and application hosting.
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in Oracle environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, administer and support Oracle Databases (11g, 12c, 19c), ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, application errors, and connectivity problems.
• Manage Oracle 12c/19c multi-tenant databases (PDB/ CDB) and container databases.
• Ensure Oracle database and applications comply with security best practices, including user management, encryption, and audit trails.
• Work closely with development teams to optimize application performance and integrate Oracle-based solutions.
• Monitor and manage database and application performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager and other monitoring tools.
• Provide support during major incidents, including on-call rotation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Implement Oracle database monitoring using AI tools.
