Job summary

Intermountain Health Park City Hospital in Park City, UT is seeking a Surgical Services Support Technician to safely transport patients to and from the OR and PACU. You will organize equipment, restock supplies, and assist with room turnover while maintaining sterile technique and supporting OR staff.

You will also help transport specimens, respond to codes as needed, and participate in expanded duties like scrubbing or assisting with instruments under supervision.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, or completion within three (3) months of employment.
• Pass Basic Aseptic Technique class within 90 days of hire or transfer into role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to fulfill on-call and weekend shift requirements and provide emergency staffing support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients safely to and from the OR holding area, PACU or patient rooms, utilizing proper patient handling techniques.
• Consults with the anesthesiologist and RN to determine equipment, setup, and supply needs prior to procedures.
• Processes post-surgical case carts by safely discarding sharps and redistributing supplies.
• Sets up fluid warmers, invasive lines, and sterile supplies for anesthesia procedures, when assigned.
• Ensures timely turnover of operating rooms by cleaning surfaces and preparing the room for the next case.
• Transports blood products and specimens to relevant departments following verification and safety protocols.
• Stocks supplies in OR, SDS, and PACU as directed.
• Performs additional duties as assigned, including temperature checks and sanitation tasks.
