Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Surgical Services Support Technician at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. You will transport patients to and from the OR and PACU, assist with room turnover, and maintain sterile technique while supporting surgeons, anesthesia staff, and scrub roles as needed.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment, assisting with supplies, stocking, cleaning, and helping with post-surgical case carts and specimen transport, with on-call/weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, or completion within three months.
• Pass Basic Aseptic Technique class within 90 days of hire or transfer into role.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely to and from the OR holding area, PACU or patient rooms with proper handling.
• Consult with anesthesiologist and RN to determine equipment, setup, and supply needs prior to procedures.
• Process post-surgical case carts, safely discard sharps, and send carts to Sterile Processing for reprocessing.
• Set up fluid warmers, invasive lines, and sterile supplies for anesthesia procedures when assigned.
• Ensure timely turnover of operating rooms by cleaning surfaces and preparing for next case.
• Transport blood products and specimens to and from blood bank and related departments with proper safety checks.
• Stock supplies in OR, SDS, PACU as directed by the facility.
• May assist with training in Basic Aseptic Technique and support surgeon as directed.
• Maintain sanitation protocols for instruments and equipment.
