Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech III to join the Operating Room team in Jersey City. The role works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and collaborates with surgeons to deliver patient care before, during, and after procedures.

The position requires completion of an OR Technician program, NBSTSA certification, and BLS. Expect 7:00 am–3:00 pm shifts, with full-time hours and occasional weekends or calls.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an OR Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge scrubbing service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
• Able to make calls, flexible, multitask, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• A member of the surgical team, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, delivers patient care and assumes responsibilities before, during and after surgery.
• Supports surgeon and RN in the operating room to ensure safe, efficient care.

Job Overview

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications

• Required:High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an OR Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Certified Surgical Technician, required
• NBSTSA Certification, required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements

• 7:00 am – 3:00 pm

• Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
