Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Technician III to join our Operating Room team in Jersey City. The role works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and collaborates with surgeons to deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery.

The day shift, full-time position requires a surgical tech license, NBSTSA certification, BLS, and 2–3 years of OR experience. Expect rotating weekends and call coverage with competitive benefits and a comprehensive total rewards package.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an OR Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of OR experience.
• Strong knowledge scrub across multiple service lines including robotics, vascular, neurovascular, orthopedics, and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering patient care under RN direction before, during, and after surgery.
• Collaborate with surgeon and team to ensure smooth operative flow.
• Perform scrubbing and aseptic techniques across designated service lines.

Pay Range: $31.41 - $38.42, per hour

Job Overview

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications

• Required:High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an OR Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Certified Surgical Technician, required
• NBSTSA Certification, required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements

• 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
• Full Time
• Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
