RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech III for the night shift at Jersey City Medical Center. The role collaborates with the perioperative nurse to organize and deliver individualized patient care, ensuring safe outcomes in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.

The candidate will scrub multiple service lines including robotics, vascular, neurovascular, orthopedics, and trauma, with 2–3 years of experience and NBSTSA certification required. BLS certification is also required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Must scrub service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.
• Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) required.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the perioperative team to organize and administer age-appropriate care in the surgical suite.
• Support safe patient outcomes across the perioperative division and maintain a sterile, efficient environment.
• Assist with intraoperative activities and respond to patient physiologic changes as needed.

Pay Range: $31.41 - $38.42 per hour

Job Overview

In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualizes age specific care to patients, maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes, and ensure patient’s physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
