RWJBarnabas Health in Jersey City is seeking an OR Tech III to collaborate with the perioperative team and organize individualized patient care in the operating room. The role focuses on maintaining safe patient outcomes and supporting the perioperative division.

The candidate should have a surgical technician training background, NBSTSA and BLS certifications, and 2–3 years of experience, with strong communication and multitasking abilities. Night shift, full-time position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Scrub across robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.

• Assist perioperative team to organize and deliver age-appropriate patient care.

Pay Range: $31.41 - $38.42 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview

In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualizes age specific care to patients, maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes, and ensure patient’s physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
