Job summary

OSS Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the OR team, supporting planning and preparation for safe procedures under RN supervision. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, equipment readiness, and collaboration with the Circulating Nurse to ensure a smooth surgical flow.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, Surgical Tech certification (or be within 6 months of certification), and BLS, with preference given to those with 3+ years of prior OR experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Surgical Tech certification strongly preferred.
• New Surgical Tech graduates must obtain certification within 6 months.
• BLS certification required or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Surgical Tech strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and checks assigned cases for instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each procedure.
• Follows aseptic technique when opening sterile supplies, setting up cases, scrubbing, gowning and draping; Reports any break in aseptic technique.
• Maintains an orderly back table and mayo stand during procedure following established setup.
• Assist Circulating Nurse in counts and report discrepancies.
