Qualifications

• Ability to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures by pulling instruments and supplies and checks instrument functionality.
• Anticipates surgeon's needs, passes instruments, retracts tissue and operates equipment as required.
• Maintains aseptic technique, disposes of sharps, and counts sponges; prepares instruments for cleaning.
• Ensures accuracy of surgeon preference cards and pick lists.
• Assists with OR turnover, stocking supplies, and cleaning operating rooms.
• Provides business support to the department as needed.
