Job summary

The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. You will scrub on multiple procedures, maintain aseptic technique, and assist with instrument passing and specimen handling.

A qualified candidate will have CST or NCCT-TC certification and at least one of the required training pathways. You will work Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, with some late shifts, in a full-time role that emphasizes patient care across the life span and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or associate degree program.
• Current CST certification or NCCT-TC certification (military applicants considered).
• 3 years of experience as a surgical technologist in the past 5 years (preferred).
• Brown University Health on-the-job surgical technologist training program completed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room with anticipated supplies, instruments and equipment.
• Scrub on a variety of procedures and assist with passing instruments and sutures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and a safe environment.
• Perform surgical counts and manage packs/sponges/instruments.
• Assist in patient positioning and room turnover between cases.
• Maintain accurate medication and solution records during procedures.
• May transport patients as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
