Job summary

DuPont Surgery Center in Saint Matthews, KY is seeking a surgical technologist to support the operating room team. The role involves preparing and maintaining equipment, setting up instruments and sterile supplies, and assisting surgeons and nurses throughout perioperative care.

Candidates must be CPR certified with 0–2 years of related experience; a graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program is preferred but not required. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred, not required.
• Must be CPR certified with 0-2 years clinical experience.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care and follow center policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain medical equipment for procedures.
• Set up instruments, drapes, and solutions before operations.
• Tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.
• Prepare skin, body, and equipment for surgery.
• Assemble and check sterile and non-sterile equipment.
• Transport patients to the operating room and assist with positioning.
• Observe vital signs and assist with gowning.
• Pass instruments to surgeons and assistants.
• Operate sterilizers, lights, suction, and diagnostic equipment.
• Help transfer patients to recovery and restock the operating room.
