Job summary

Acuity Eye Group is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the circulating nurse and surgical team in California. The role involves preparing for procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring supplies and instruments are ready for cases.

Responsibilities include instrument handling, decontamination, and assisting with OR turnover while prioritizing patient safety and confidentiality. Candidates should have CST certification and an active BLS credential.

Qualifications

• Current California Surgical Technician certification or equivalent training
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Minimum one year OR experience (within the last 2 years)

Responsibilities

• Assist and anticipate surgeon needs for instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies
• Prepare for surgical and special procedure cases by selecting supplies and equipment
• Maintain sterile technique at all times
• Stock and clean OR environment between cases and at end of schedule
• Assist with turnover of the OR and proper care of specimens
• Transport and decontaminate instruments and equipment per policy
• Maintain implant logs and participate in inventory counts
