Job summary

Pacific Eye Institute is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technician to support the operating room by preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments for ophthalmic procedures. This role involves assisting surgeons during surgeries, maintaining compliance with health standards, and managing surgical supplies.

The ideal candidate will have at least two to three years of experience in a surgical environment, along with a strong understanding of eye anatomy and ocular diseases. Joining a collaborative team, you will contribute to optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two to three years of experience as a Surgical Technician in ophthalmology or another surgical specialty.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ophthalmic surgical procedures including cataract and LASIK.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support during ophthalmic surgeries, anticipating surgeon needs.
• Maintain daily operating room operations in compliance with standards.
• Oversee and maintain surgical supply inventory.
• Clean, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments.
• Prepare and set up laser rooms with sterile supplies and equipment.
• Assist with patient education and directive medication administration.
• Collaborate with the OR team in training new staff.
