Job summary

Adventist Health Glendale in Glendale, CA is seeking a surgical support technician to assist the operating room team. You will prepare cases, maintain a sterile field and pass instruments and medicines to surgeons during procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma, OR experience or training, and CPR/BLS certification; certification as Surgical Technician and CNA are preferred. You will also help with instrument counts, equipment checks, and housekeeping duties to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED required.
• Associate's/Technical Degree or related experience preferred.
• Scrub technician experience preferred.
• Operating room experience and/or training course preferred.
• Surgery Technician certification preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for each surgical case by checking required supplies and equipment prior to case.
• Assembles appropriate supplies/equipment prior to operative procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Transports patients according to unit schedules and priorities; provides clerical duties.
• Completes instrument, sponge, needle and blade counts with the RN according to standards.
• Sets up/maintains neat and orderly sterile field and labels solutions.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
