Job summary

South Texas Spine Hospital seeks a Full Time Certified Surgical Technician to scrub and assist in the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting instrumentation and equipment. The role requires CST certification, BLS, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Under supervision of OR leadership and nurses, you will ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to HIPAA while supporting a high standard of care through training and ongoing competency

Qualifications

• Eligibility for employment in the U.S. is required.
• High School diploma or GED required for the role.
• Graduate of a surgical technician program with CST certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a prerequisite.
• 2-4 years of experience in the field or related area preferred.
• Demonstrated English communication skills for patient care and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to staffing schedules and daily assignments.
• Works as a team player in preparing the operating room and stocking cases.
• Provides direct patient care in clinical areas and demonstrates competence.
• Participates in orientation of new staff and competency programs.
• Completes LMS courses annually and participates in staff meetings.
• Maintains professional interaction with physicians, patients, and staff to ensure service quality.
