Job summary

Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX, an UHS-affiliated acute care facility, seeks an OR Tech with CST/TS-C certification or equivalent experience to support surgical teams. The role requires aseptic technique, instrument handling, and room readiness for procedures in a fast-paced OR environment.

Qualified candidates will have CST/TS-C or LVN background, BLS certification, and strong teamwork and communication skills to assist surgeons and ensure patient safety across age groups.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program (CST or TS-C) or documented prior employment as a surgical technologist.
• Must hold current CST or TS-C certification or be an LVN or provide proof of employment as a practicing surgical technologist prior to Sep 1, 2009.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification must be completed during new hire orientation.

Responsibilities

• Passes instruments on all procedures or acts as an assistant and holds retractors as needed.
• Practices aseptic technique.
• Assists in preparation of room prior to surgery and cleans room after surgery.
• Ensures instruments, supplies and equipment are available for surgical procedures.
• Works in the instrument room as needed.
• Takes assigned call as required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific patient needs and participates in cost containment in the OR.
