Job summary

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist to support pre-operative care and patient preparation for surgical procedures. You will ensure aseptic technique, assist the surgeon, and help maintain a sterile operating room environment in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires completing a Surgical Technology program or LVN/LPN program, with BLS certification and CST eligibility. Schedule is 4 days of 10 hours, full-time, in New Braunfels, Texas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Surgical Technology program or LVN/LPN program required.
• BLS certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a professional nurse, perform all processes related to direct patient care and assistance in the OR prior to and during any surgical procedure.
• Proficiently scrub 3 specialty areas; assist as directed by the physician.
• Establish and maintain sterile field, pass instruments, and assist with suturing.
• Use the physician preference card as a starting point when pulling cases and setting up the OR.
• Ensure preference cards are up to date and complete.
• Collaborate effectively as part of the patient care team and maintain a safe environment.
