Job summary

Brown University Health at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist Lead to support the operating room team and improve service line efficiency. You will act as the designated lead when the Service Line Lead is unavailable, onboard staff, align competencies to case complexity, and coordinate with the Sterile Processing Department.

Required: 5 years as a Surgical Technologist, orthopedic specialty knowledge, aseptic techniques, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• 5 years as a Surgical Technologist
• 2-year work history in specialty
• Knowledge of surgical equipment and aseptic techniques
• Current BLS certification at hire

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing operating rooms for procedures and ensure instruments, equipment, and supplies are available
• Serve as clinical resource for onboarding nurses, technologists, and contracted staff
• Align staff competencies to case complexity and coordinate with SPD
• Collaborate with Sterile Processing to optimize trays and maintain tray availability
• Act as liaison to ensure timely tray delivery and case flow
• Support service line leader in reviewing and maintaining preference cards
