Job summary

AdventHealth Tarpon Springs is seeking a scheduling specialist to coordinate surgical procedures and manage the facility’s scheduling workflow. You will collect demographic, insurance, and clinical information and work with physicians and office staff to book operations.

The role requires strong communication, clinical awareness, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR scheduling tools. A High School diploma and 3+ years in healthcare are preferred, with BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in a healthcare setting required.
• 1+ year of technical experience preferred.
• 1+ Electronic Health Record (EHR) scheduling experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for surgery and complete facility paperwork.
• Obtain scheduling, demographic, insurance, and clinical information to schedule, cancel, or reschedule events.
• Schedule surgeries with physicians and office staff.
• Prepare the advance surgical schedule and coordinate with involved departments.
• Maintain hospital schedules and assist with staff orientation as needed.
