Job summary

East Tennessee Children's Hospital is seeking an Operating Room/Surgery Coordinator to support perioperative scheduling and data reporting. The role requires coordinating with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing staff to book procedures and maintain accurate records.

You will be the Meditech super user, handle lab orders, verify patient information, and prepare administrative reports while ensuring charge capture and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• 2 years of experience in the medical field/physician’s office required.
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and correctly enter booking information for surgical times.
• Prepare tentative and final surgical schedules with accurate patient, procedure, and surgeon data.
• Communicate schedule changes to relevant departments and verify patient accounts and charges.
• Serve as Meditech 6.0 super user and attend updates/meetings.
• Process lab orders and coordinate with billing and patient financial services to ensure accurate charges.
• Generate administrative reports and census statistics.
